Authorities have arrested a suspect in the fatal shooting of an Akron man in an apparent road rage incident that took place on I76 in Norton earlier this month.

U.S. Marshal Pete Elliott confirmed to 3News that 30yearold Dacarrei Tovon Kinard was apprehended in Columbus on Wednesday afternoon by the Southern Ohio Fugitive Apprehension Strike Team (SOFAST) and the Columbus Police Department’s SWAT Team. A warrant had been issued for Kinard's arrest on Wednesday morning in connection with the fatal shooting of George "Geo" Jensen on May 17.

According to a release, Kinard was taken into custody without incident after authorities responded to the area of 1400 Livingston Ct. in Columbus.

“The Norton Police Department worked nonstop to gather information, follow up on tips from the public, and ultimately make an identification for this suspect," Elliott said in a statement.

According to authorities, Jensen was traveling eastbound on I76 when a suspect in another vehicle “fired several gunshots at the victim’s vehicle.” The Summit County Medical Examiner’s Office says Jensen's vehicle came to a stop after it struck the concrete median.

Jensen was then taken to an Akron hospital with an apparent gunshot wound where he later died from his injuries.
