The UP local from S Janesville, WI ran down the Stateline branch to DeLongs and Fairbanks Morse again on Feb 27th, 2024.
The first view is at the end of the line as patched SSW GP60 1158 pulls the train to the very end of track to clear the switch to spot grain hoppers in DeLongs (formerly Demeters) S. Beloit, IL facility. The turnout they pass over goes to a cement silo that stopped getting cars several years back.
After spotting the hoppers, it was up to Stateline Jct for lunch where I grabbed a couple pictures of the Walthers style car.
Off to FM, on the sharply curved and rickety spur that comes off the CPKC branch to Janesville and along Switchtrack Alley for the final lap to FM as storm clouds gather.
