We are so PROUD of this renovation and makeover project that is finally done! A primary bedroom and custom onsuite bathroom complete with outdoor shower! We also announce the giveaway winner for the Roxanne Metal Cane Bed!
What started out as a major fixerupper on this island property in Hawaii (that we bought without seeing in person), is now a vibrant, colorful, island paradise that we designed with a relaxed yet elevated look. We wanted to bring the beautiful nature that is around us into the space so we used a color palette of peach, green and tons of stone and driftwood. There’s a salvaged driftwood shelf (found on the beach nearby), Potter’s clay peach Limewash peel & stick wallpaper on the walls and ceiling, raw gray marble vessel sinks on the double vanity and a huge rock wall built from coral rock with an outdoor shower of puka lava stone.
The faux fireplace is also from our Mr. Kate line of elevated and affordable furniture that ships to your door! The Winston fireplace adds so much to this space as a cozy focal point opposite the bed with optional heat function on the fireplace remote.
DIY art was a must to bring in a personal touch. I painted a “smush” landscape on my iPad (using Fresco but you can also use Procreate), then my 4 year old son Moon helped make a floral illustration for the bathroom wall and we also made a driftwood sculptural wall mobile out of brass chain and found sea shells.
The private outdoor shower is dreams come true for island living! We hope you love this makeover as much as we do!
