Stop Anxiety by Changing Negative Thoughts | CALM-Logic

Follow
Paige Pradko

Why do I feel anxious around other people and think that they don’t like me? Our thoughts, especially our self critical thoughts, negatively influence our moods and behaviors.

How we interpret the World around us, including other people’s thoughts, feelings and behaviors can make us anxious and depressed. What if I told you that by simply changing your interpretation, you could reduce your anxiety and improve your mood?

That is exactly what Cognitive Restructuring, a CBT Technique accomplishes. In this video I introduce you to Cognitive Restructuring. A CBT Technique that involves identifying and labeling your own cognitive distortions and then replacing them with more helpful position thoughts. The results are decreased overall anxiety and an improved mood.

This is the first Cognitive Behavior Therapy technique in the Logic section of my CALM system for treating Anxiety Disorders. In my previous video, I explained when to use CBT (for Cortex based anxiety) and when not to use CBT (for amygdala based anxiety). That information is important. If you missed that video, you can watch it here

   • CBT: When to Use It |Cognitive Behavi...   .

Only when you learn to recognize the different cognitive distortions that you use regularly, can you learn to replace them, thereby decreasing your anxiety.

Remember to subscribe so you can follow along as we continue to dive deeper into the Logic series and learn more CBT and DBT techniques to reduce anxiety.
