As a stock media producer earning about $3k/month, I am disapointed by just about every announcement that Shutterstock makes. I have only been in this game for a little under 3 years, and it's amazing to see how much has changed even in those 3 years–all changes for the worse from a contributor earnings perspective. We're making less money than ever before, and our stock agencies are now partnering with the companies stealing our work.

As an entrepreneur, you need to get it through your head that these big companies are never on your team. They are in it for one thing only: turning an ever bigger profit. The sooner you get that through your head, the more easily you can anticipate their next moves, and the more good you can do for yourself and the people around you who matter.

We are entering a new stage of humanity. One in which humanity–the small things that make us who we are–will mattery more than anything else. I'd encourage anyone reading this tho bring that thought to their next venture whether that's business, a trip, a project with your spouse or anything else.
