Stiletto snakes (also called mole vipers or burrowing asps) are small venomous snakes with long fangs which can protrude out of their mouths. It enables these snakes to stab their prey in tight spaces. Many people get bitten by stiletto snakes because they pick them up thinking that they are harmless. Stiletto snakes have cytotoxic venom and bites are very painful, victims can end up loosing a finger. Our video shows the Bibron's stiletto snake (Atractaspis bibronii) and a bit similar Common purpleglossed snake (Amblyodipsas polylepis). We also show the Giant legless skink (Acontias plumbeus), which is often mistaken for a snake.
