Stella and Colt's Weizsla Puppies
We were blessed with a litter of Weizsla puppies from Stella and Colt, born on January 4th. There is 1 Girl and 2 Boys in this litter. The litter of 3 Weizsla puppies will be available to go home after March 2nd.
The Dam:
The Dam for this special litter is our Beautiful Stella. Stella is a sweetheart of a girl with excellent conformation. She fits into all the AKC guidelines for Vizslas. We are very partial to Stella, but we feel she's the perfect example of a Vizsla and built for a dualpotential dog. Stella has a great temperament and disposition. She gets along well with other dogs. Stella is a happy girl. She is part of the family and likes the attention but does well when she is left alone. Stella is a very loyal Vizsla girl who enjoys family time. Stella is hardcharging with an exceptional nose, intense prey drive, and excellent stamina. We are incredibly proud of Stella; we expect her puppies to have some of the same characteristics.
The Sire:
Our Colt is the stud dog for this litter. Colt is a Big Silver Weimaraner; he's impressive and represents the breed beautifully. He is a big Weimaraner with excellent conformation. Colt has AKC Championship Bloodlines. With his pedigree, we are anticipating intelligent puppies with excellent conformation and loyal family members.
With the qualities of the Sire and Dam, we look forward to seeing some great pups from this litter. Under the proper environment, conditions, and training, these pups will likely have the potential to become competitive hunters or maybe just that new family member.
There is a $300 deposit to reserve your puppy, and the remaining balance of $1300 is due when picking up your puppy. The puppies from this litter will be available to go home to their new families on April 13th. We are currently taking deposits for litter.
What is a Weizsla?
The Weizsla or Vizmaraner is a new, exciting hybrid between the Weimaraner and the Vizsla, two superbly bred German and Hungarian dogs that are playful, friendly, and affectionate with other dogs.
Physically, they are varying shades of Chocolate/Brown being the standard, and are also very clean dogs with minimal grooming requirements. The eye color ranges from the Weimaraner's green to the Vizsla's hazel. With a long life expectancy of twelve to fifteen years, they have few health problems, and we offer a guarantee against genetic defects.
BREED HISTORY
The Vizsla is a sleek, slenderbuilt dog with rust coloring that perfectly matches its eye color. The Hungarian or Magyar Vizsla is a breed that lived and hunted with ancient Magyar tribes in the Carpathian Basin. Catlike in behavior, a Vizsla is a very clean dog, grooming itself like a cat; when hunting, they look to the sky, compared to a Weimaraner who looks to the ground. Vizsla males tend to weigh around 4566 pounds, while females average 4055 pounds.
The Weimaraner was Germanbred and was bred to hunt with German nobles and aristocrats. The early breeding program of the Weimaraner was so specialized that it was rare for anyone not of royal breeding to own such a wonderful dog. Initially bred to hunt wild elk and boar, Germans switched to birds when elk and boar disappeared. Weimaraners can be headstrong and need a firm and consistent owner, so a family with an established routine is an excellent choice. Depending on the size of the Weimaraner, females average 7090 pounds and males 7895 pounds.
Very affectionate and loving, this breed needs to be housed with families and not in kennels. They see themselves as part of the family pack and like nothing better than cuddling with their human families on the couch. They are not hyper as some postings on the internet state, but like twenty minutes or more a day of running, walking, or active play. The Weizsla seems to get more of the Vizsla's temperament, but both breeds love close human contact, running and playing on land and water, and being with their family. People will stop you when you own a Weizsla pup and ask about them, so be prepared.
The puppies will have been...
As always, your pup will have been dewormed several times with a vetgrade dewormer. They will have had their first two sets of vaccinations completed. The tail will be docked appropriately, and the dewclaws removed by a certified vet. Your puppy will get its final vet checkup to ensure you get the healthiest puppy possible.
While the puppies are growing, we take lots of videos and photos. We do our best to make this a fun family experience you will never forget. Our puppy owners love the pictures and videos and look forward to the next one. The videos give you lots of helpful info and help you and your family when it is time on the 8th week to pick out your new puppy/family member.
