The colour fixing process is an important step in silk craft painting; unlike fine art silk painting, craft silk painting is unusually made for wear or close use in everyday life. Therefore it required a solid colour fixing step to ensure the colours remain after wash.
The professional silk steamer takes lots of space and is also expensive to invest for beginners. These 3 minutes tutorials are made for the new silk painters. It is the best way I found out for home studios in years of experience. Rolls allow the colour to be steamed evenly; the folds are neat and acceptable.
Steam your silk painting evenly at a low cost.
(it leaves mild folds but doesn't affect the look, it will go away after a few washes, it will not show if your choose to frame the work from a professional framer shop)
