Starting Generator without Pull Chord

Follow
Adventures with Al

In this video I am showing how I started my generator with a broken pull cord assembly. Some people think it's funny, weird, or stupid using an electric drill to start a generator to make electricity. They probably are the ones who don't live offgrid. You should always have 2 or more sources of electricity if your off grid. For example: A solar setup with panels, charge controller, inverter, and batteries (I have two of those setups). A spare 12 volt inverter hanging around where you can hook up your jumper cables to your car battery to get plenty of electric to run a drill. And lastly, a lithium battery power unit (have 2 of them). By the way, you should always have a back up generator just in case. Ok, back to the video text:
This method can be used to start almost any pullcord motor. I use my Honda Generator to run the drill, just for this video example, but if your off grid then use your car battery and a small inverter to run the drill or some other solar power system. An average drill will need at least 450 watts, somewhere around there. Some may have a small solar system that can run a drill but their construction generator can run their whole house. Hope all this helps thanks!
