I am trying to design a squirrel baffle that is both entertaining and inexpensive. My latest venture is a piece of 3" diameter PVC pipe I found in the garage. I drilled 2 holes in the top and suspended it over the pole holding my bird feeders with swimsuit elastic I found in the basement. One morning I found the squirrel on top of my feeders. Thinking the squirrel had climbed up the pole through the pipe I added some 1" screws around the bottom of the pipe to prevent entry to the pole. This worked for awhile. I managed to film the critter in action and discovered how he was defeating the baffle. I made a modification which seems to work for today.
