The town of Sprunki is in chaos as dark forces overrun it, led by Black and Wenda, who wreak havoc by transforming the cheerful Sprunki villagers into twisted versions of themselves. Amidst the turmoil, Catnap, Dogday, and Rabie Baby attempt to escape, but they too begin to succumb to the dark energy corrupting everyone. A flashback reveals the Smiling Critters' earlier arrival in Sprunki for a music festival, where Baba Chops’ rock performance inadvertently allows Black to cast a dark spell, starting the chain of events leading to Sprunki's destruction.
