Bryan Heck, the city manager of Springfield, Ohio, addressed the media and called into question statements about the growing immigrant population.
Heck's remarks follow former President Donald Trump's claim in his presidential debate with Kamala Harris that migrants in Springfield are "eating the pets." Local officials have said there's no evidence supporting such claims.
"In Springfield, they're eating the dogs, the people that came in," Trump said in the debate. "They're eating the cats. They're eating the pets of the people that live there. This is what's happening in our country, and it's a shame."
