Sparkle, The Reading Spoon
a fable for kids. Have fun! Magical!
Once upon a time, in a magic kitchen drawer, there lived a little spoon named Sparkle. Unlike her spoon friends who were content with stirring and scooping, Sparkle had a dream – she wanted to learn to read.
Every night, when the kitchen lights dimmed, Sparkle would hop out of the drawer and gaze longingly at the colorful storybooks on the shelf. “If only I could read those tales,” she sighed.
One day, a kindhearted fork named Fletcher noticed Sparkle’s yearning. “Why so glum, Sparkle?” he asked.
“I wish to read, but I am just a spoon,” Sparkle replied.
“Nonsense!” exclaimed Fletcher. “Everyone can learn to read, even a spoon. I’ll help you.”
And so, Fletcher began teaching Sparkle the alphabet. They started with the labels on the spice jars and moved on to simple recipes. Sparkle was a quick learner, and soon she could spell ‘soup’ and ‘sugar’ all by herself.
As days passed, Sparkle’s confidence grew. She practiced every night, tracing letters in leftover crumbs and reciting rhymes from memory.
Then came the big night. Sparkle, read her first storybook aloud. The tale was about a brave spoon who journeyed far and wide, learning new words along the way.
The kitchen utensils gathered around, listening in awe as Sparkle read each word with glee. When she finished, they all cheered, “Hooray for Sparkle, the reading spoon!”
From that night on, Sparkle read a new story every evening to Fletcher and their friends. The kitchen was filled with magic and laughter, all thanks to a little spoon who dared to dream.
