Learn how we saved thousands of dollars by switching our domicile to South Dakota. We transfer our residency (home base) from Arizona to South Dakota to support our Nomad lifestyle and save money. Living full time in an RV and traveling the US required us to seek an alternative state to domicile for auto/RV registration, insurance, driver's license, tags/title and mail forwarding. The process to establish our new home base was easy and quick. In 24 hours we had our plates, tags, driver's license and physical & mailing address in hand. We significantly reduced the cost of our insurance on both vehicles, the registration and income tax to where we will save thousands of dollars annually. Full time RV'ers can experience challenges receiving their mail due to the constant travel. Americas Mailbox has perfected the process to help full timer's establish a home base, receive and forward their mail and establish permanent residency. Americas Mailbox is located in Box Elder, South Dakota, a stone's throw away from Rapid City. You an can stay overnight in Americas Mailbox's RV park or guest suites. You do need to spend at least 24 hours in South Dakota (with proof) in order to obtain residency. You can even obtain your registration and plates by mail, no need to spend a night in South Dakota; however, obtaining a driver's license does require an overnight stay.
