In this session, we'll have a look and listen to the DPA 4017b shotgun microphone. This has been my primary shotgun microphone for 6 or 7 years now and still my goto when capturing sound outdoors for most productions. We'll get you some sound samples relative to the Sennheiser MKH416, RODE NTG3, and RODE NTG5 for reference. We'll also demonstrate its offaxis response. Then we'll answer your sound for video questions.​
