Soul Eater is a deep anime. It's a halloweenesq anime. It's also a dumb anime. There's a lot going on beneath the surface if you're willing to look for it, and that's what makes Soul Eater great. It's fun to watch, with the more serious themes lying just under the surface.

Soul Eater is one of the most anime anime out there. It's got tons of the cliche's, everything from mechs to a magical school, but the show itself isn't generic at all. It's an excellent story revolving primarily around three teams of two as they progress through a world maintained by Lord Death, the ruler of the DWMA. But what starts of as funny and fun has a lot of side characters that can truly be delved into on a different level.
