Some of my Favorite Scrap Buster Ideas PLUS Tutorials for Beginners

Timeless Treasures

I had so much fun with my paper scraps, and thought I'd share some of my favourite ways to use up my paper and cardstock off cuts and left overs with you.

These projects are all beginner friendly, quick and easy to make and can be done in mass make sessions. My process is usually to make them all in advance, rather plainly just the bases, then I like to decorate them later on when I use them in a journal, so that they match the theme I'm working with.

Top of the list for me would be master boards. I didn't show my process in this video, as most of you are familiar with it. But I will do a tutorial on this for my beginner subscribers at a later stage.

Punched out shapes: I love to punch out different shapes and keep them to later use for decorating my journals, cards and envelopes. Paper punches are a great tool for this, but some of them are a bit difficult for me to manage and hard to punch through cardstock. Still good for some mindless fun while watching a movie or series. Sometimes I also get out my BigShot and use some of the smaller dies to just sit and cut various things from my box of scraps.

I always use little notepads in my journals, so I made a bunch of these in different shapes, sizes, colors and textures.

Tiny envelopes are cute, and you can insert a sentiment, sticker, die cut or anything into them as a little surprise.
I've also made the fold down envelopes which can be a cute hidden journaling spot.

And lastly I made a couple of tiny matchbook folders with pockets, which I think is so clever to use as a tuck spot on a page, and then you can also tuck in some smaller embellishments, stickers, tickets, tags or whatever else you can think of, inside the folder.

Of course I have many more scrap buster ideas and there are also loads of other videos available from other creators, but these are just some of MY favorite things to do.

I hope you enjoyed this video, and feel inspired to get out your paper scraps and start creating.

Have fun!
