Diane Staudte and her daughter, Rachel Staudte, conspired to kill their immediate family. Their first victim was Diane's husband, Mark Staudte, followed by their autistic 26yearold son, Shaun Staudte, five months later. Sarah Staudte, another daughter who was also poisoned, survived but suffered physical and neurological damage. Diane Staudte was convicted in 2016 and received a life sentence without parole, while Rachel Staudte pleaded guilty to seconddegree murder in 2015 and was sentenced in March 2016 to life in prison with the possibility of parole after testifying against her mother.
