We headed 60 miles east of Durango for a day trip to the beautiful town of Pagosa Springs. Pagosa Springs is named by the Southwestern Ute word, "Pagosah" which now translates as, "healing waters,” after the sulfur hot springs in town, including the world’s deepest geothermal hot spring. And during our one full day in the area, we explored as much of the town and the surrounding area as we can, including a free hot spring, waterfalls, and beautiful views!
