SIMPLE Delicious and Nutritious Raw Dog Food Meal

We Feed Raw

We Feed Raw is nutritionally complete and balanced and can be fed asis, although some people choose to add toppers for added taste, texture, or bonus nutrition for their dog.

Our recipes were formulated by a PhD animal nutritionist with over 30 years of experience and exceed AAFCO nutrition requirements for dogs of all life stages, including large breed puppies.

Each patty contains approximately 80% muscle meat (with associated connective tissue and fat), 10% secreting organs, 10% finely ground bone, and added vitamins and minerals to provide all the nutrition your pup needs.

We often get asked this: what temperature should I feed my dog’s meals? The answer really depends on the dog you’re feeding. Some dogs do better with warm meals, others do fine with cold (even in the form of frozen meat snacks!), and then there are dogs who like their meals somewhere in between—closer to room temp. Let’s break down the options.

THE MOST POPULAR. Straight from the fridge. This is the easiest way to feed, as you’re simply thawing the food packets in your fridge for 1224 hours before mealtime. Once a dog has been fully transitioned to raw, they typically have no issue eating their meals at about a 40degree temp.

THE WARMEDUP METHOD. Use heated bone broth, warm water, or try gently searing the patty. This is a great approach for dogs who are new to raw and may be turned off by the cold temperature (especially if they’re accustomed to kibble or cooked food). Over time, you’ll be able to heat less and less until you’re feeding straight from the fridge. Some dogs, however, even after they’re fully transitioned to raw, tend to do better with warmer temps, especially if they’re prone to yeast issues. (One note: It’s important that you don’t fully cook the meat, as this defeats the purpose of feeding raw.)

THE ROOMTEMP APPROACH. While we don’t recommend leaving raw food out for long periods of time, it’s fine to take your pet’s food out of the fridge and then let it sit for 1520 minutes on the countertop. This takes the chill off and can make the food more palatable and digestible.
