Simple Beer Can Chicken indirect on the Weber Kettle Grill

Beer Can Chicken grilling indirect using the Weber Deluxe Poultry Roaster.

Ingredients:

1 Good sized roasting chicken
1 Can of your favorite beer (You won’t need much, but you can drink the rest)
Weber’s Beer Can Chicken Seasoning
Weber Deluxe Poultry Roaster
Charcoal – I use Kingsford Blue Bag, you use what you like.
Peach wood chips.

Preparation:

Take the chicken out of its packaging, and give it a good washing inside and out. Don’t forget to look for the giblet bag inside the bird.
Pat dry the chicken using paper towels.
Take the poultry roaster and fill the beer reservoir with your favorite beer.
Put the cover over the reservoir.
Place the bird on the holder
Put the neck plug in the bird’s neck.
Liberally dust the chicken with the Beer Can Chicken Seasoning.
Prepare your grill for indirect cooking and let heat up.
Put the chicken on the grill’s indirect area.
Add some peach wood chips to the coals
Close the lid and adjust grilling temperature to about 350
Grill until the thigh of the bird is 170 degrees F.
Carefully remove the roaster and bird from the grill and put on a heat safe surface.
Let stand for about 5 minutes then carefully remove the bird from the roaster (Remember that beer is darn hot)
Carve the bird the way you want to eat it and enjoy.

Best served with my Pirate Baked Beans.
