Siding a Shed with Freshly Sawn Lumber | You CAN build with green lumber

Sawing with Sandy

The time is finally here and I'm siding a shed with freshly sawn lumber that I milled from red pine trees I harvest here at my woodlot. Today I"ll be showing you the nailing pattern I use to install green "wet" lumber without the board splitting. This isn't rocket science but without using the proper nailing pattern, you can get splitting of green lumber as they dry and shrink. I'll also show you how I go about securing the wood siding using board and batten pattern. With the help of my framing nailer the job of putting up these 100+ boards goes quick. For those that have been around the channel for some time you'll also notice that my framing nailer no longer leaks air! Watch closely today as I talk about making sure the boards are plumb and the types of nails I use for secure, permanent fastening. Since the wood siding is beginning to wrap up, the next choice I have to make is what I'm going to do for doors. Time is ticking as winter is starting to feel closer and closer. Guess I better get back to work! Thanks for watching everyone!
