The Oriental Shorthair is a breed of domestic cat that is developed from and closely related to the Siamese cat. It maintains the modern Siamese head and body type but appears in a wide range of coat colors and patterns. Lively and social, the Oriental does best in a home with doting owners who have multiple cats or other pets, including dogs. Amusing, playful and curious, the breed loves attention and tends to become unhappy when ignored or left alone too often. Oriental cats are pretty smart and flexible.
