Dr. Lera’s recommendation is to NOT declaw your cat.

As of 01/17/2020, declawing is still LEGAL in the state of Florida. However, there is a bill that was recently introduced in the Florida senate that would make it illegal to declaw cats for nontherapeutic reasons. The bill seems to mirror the New York legislation that was the first antideclaw law in the nation.
