The Government is being urged by charity ‘Marriage Foundation’ to introduce policies including financial incentives to help reverse the decline in marriage in the UK. Earlier this month, Liz Truss seemingly encouraged nuptials by proposing that if she became Prime Minister she would review the taxation of families and the use of tax allowances which could help families save hundreds of pounds. With marriage rates at an all time low in the UK and recent figures showing more babies have been born out of wedlock since records began in 1845, should couples be encouraged to walk down the aisle?
