SHED MAKEOVER -- CUTEST EVER!

Follow
M A R Y E L I Z A B E T H

Hey ya’ll! I don’t know if a cuter shed exists! I’m so in love with this fun & funky, little flex space. The painting took me a WHILE to finish but hot damn, that was thee TRANSFORMATION. As soon as I saw a semblance of an open beam, I knew I had to paint it white!

PAINT & PROCESS:

1. White Pigment Shellac Primer https://www.sherwinwilliams.com/home...

This went on first to cover any knots as a spot treatment. Shellac Primer is GREAT for painting Ikea furniture or other nonwood items, like older closet doors, nonwood cabinets etc. It’s adheres super well and allows the paint to roll right on & stay put!

2. MultiPurpose Interior/Exterior Latex Primer/Sealer: https://www.sherwinwilliams.com/home...

Next I applied this all over to cover all wood & get ready for paint!

3. Alabaster Eggshell Paint in the Sherwin Williams Emerald Line https://www.sherwinwilliams.com/home...

I can’t say enough for high quality premium paint. I’ve done a lot of painting and while you can sometimes save and get a great look – many times you wind up using WAY more paint for adequate coverage which not only costs you more than you originally planned, but it’s WAY more work. Oh, also, this is why I use premium paint brushes. It’s annoying to buy but it makes a huge difference and if you wash them quickly, they will last! #TeamLessWorkLooks Great over here!

And yeah, everything has been set up to get to painting by this time, so I just rolled it on and used brushes in the corners. This would honesly be amazing to use a spray painter! The crevices etc – You could cut down on a TON of time.

4. Porch & Floor Enamel in Alabaster & Butternut https://www.sherwinwilliams.com/home...

This was the fun part! Such instant gratification and suddenly everything is playful! I figured I can always paint it dark later so why not have a little fun in the meantime. I absolutely love it!! It packs a lot of personality.

I knew I wanted white stripes to avoid a dizzying feeling and keep it solid.

DÉCOR:

Almost everything is stuff that I had & dragged out or repurposed from my random storage. After I went through it all and then donated 20% of it, I repurposed my big plastic bins to make better storage and find a new home for them. I also brought in some new drawers and have hidden storage behind the screen. Shockingly, everything has a home!

1. Lucite Chair – Furniture Consignment Shop

I love this because it has a barely there quality and is way more comfy than it looks. I hope to reupholster the seat at some point.

2. Pink Chair – Thrifted & Reupholstered

I picked this up super cheap at a thrift store a couple years ago, and it needed loads of help! I hired an upholster & he whipped this into shape. I love her so much, and I love the super pink cotton fabric on this serious chair.

3. Table – Yard Sale & Repurposed CB2 Coffee Table Top

Vintage Iron Café Table picked up at a yard sale. Typically, it has glass inset, but I threw my old coffee table top on it, which made the table slightly larger & I’ve never looked back. I’m able to use it again & again in a variety of ways!

4. Secretary – Furniture Consignment Shop

This was a full secretary that my movers smashed the top completely and broke! So sad. I have the bottom left and I’m gonna figure out a cute little top for it. I keep finding a use for it, so I haven’t gotten rid of it. Plus, the burlwood is so good.

5. Apron Table – Thrift Store

I purchased this guy for $20 during this makeover for exactly this purpose. This is the piece that really makes the space functional and work for laundry & more. It fits perfectly, and it’s really so pretty! I love the traditional mixed with the more modern, fun elements.

6. White File Cabinet (3 drawer) https://rstyle.me/+INpxNg5tCUCn2tJmZ...

Love this guy! I’ve had it for years and worth every penny. I like the simplicity. You can always find a little spot for it.

7. Hat – Thrifted

8. Jane Fonda Print – Custom via Canvas Pop

9. Gold Screen – Thrifted

Remember this from my last bedroom? New life.

10. Standing Lamp – Thrifted

Remember this from the thrift haul!?

11. Rug – Thrifted

Thank you guys so much for watching! What do you think? I can’t tell you the amount of time I’m spending out here. I like just seeing the cozy light inside from my new outdoor space and doing laundry in here is a dream. Everything is starting to come together at The Ranchalow!

More to share with you so soon like my new rental kitchen!

Thank you!

Love,

Mary
