Here’s a quick look at how we shear our alpacas here at GBAR. Before we start shearing we trim toe nails, check teeth, and look for any health related issues. This video is from 2023–shearing our girl Caslito. She is super calm and very easy to handle. No sedatives of any kind were used. My husband made our table back in 2008. It is an 8ft cafeteria style (wood) table. Back feet are restraind and we onky restrain on front foot. Flipping them is done with the utmost care. Always roll from the stomach, never the back.
