TRIVIA: Secret Agent X9 began as a comic strip syndicated in newspapers by King Features in 1934. It was created by hardboiled detective writer Dashiell Hammett and artist Alex Raymond, the hand behind Jungle Jim and Flash Gordon. It was adapted by Universal Pictures for a cliffhanger in 1937 and again in 1945.
