This time I DIY a secondary combustion stove. The fuel is pellets only, the combustion is secondary combustion from the side, and the flames that rise vertically like the Swedish torch, such vertical and horizontal flames are produced. Also, when cooking, you can adjust the strength with the special lid and the heat adjustment lever.

[Production of secondary combustion stove]
It utilizes the size of the paint cans, with air holes placed in the inner and outer cans for secondary combustion. What is more characteristic is that the inner paint can has a torch structure, so it emits vertical combustion like a Swedish torch. The flame of the torch can be adjusted with the heat adjustment lever provided at the bottom, which is convenient when cooking.
(parts processing)
・Drilling holes in paint cans
Small paint can: secondary combustion hole diameter 6mm, pitch 16.3mm / bottom air hole diameter 22mm
Large paint can: air hole diameter 22mm, pitch 32mm / heat control lever hole
Paint can top lid: air hole diameter 30mm
★Note that when drilling paint cans, a step drill cannot be used, and a hole saw is recommended.
・Thermal control lever
Create a framework with piano wire and attach iron plates
・Torch
The stainless wire mesh is rolled into a cylinder, and the upper part is supported by an iron bar
・Paint can bottom bracket & stainless wire mesh
Make a bracket to fix the torch with an iron plate, and insert the bracket into the bottom wire mesh
・Daiso trivet
Partially cut so that it can be placed in a paint can
(material)
Paint cans large 4L, small 2L
Stainless wire mesh
Piano wire
Iron plate
bolt and nut
Daiso trivet
(tool)
Electric drill, 22mm diameter hole saw
[Confirmation of secondary combustion stove combustion]
Using 900g of pellets, pour alcohol for fuel and ignite. Pour fuel alcohol into the torch, or put wood chips in it to ignite the pellets on the side. The secondary combustion lasted for 80 minutes, and after the secondary combustion, the charcoal fire lasted for more than 120 minutes. I was able to adjust the heat with the upper lid and lever operation. By covering the top lid, the heat can be suppressed, but this time, the 30 mm diameter hole in the top lid was at a lowlow heat level. Therefore, it is desirable to increase the diameter from 30mm to 50mm.
[■ State after use]
The color of the paint can changed due to heat, but there was no deformation. No other parts were damaged by heat.
