The 2021 National Lawyers Convention took place November 1113, 2021 at the Mayflower Hotel in Washington, DC. The topic of the conference was "Public and Private Power: Preserving Freedom or Preventing Harm?". This panel explored "Second Amendment: Next Steps in the Unfolding Litigation Battle."
Despite the Supreme Court's decisions in McDonald and Heller, much remains uncertain in Second Amendment law. In its first significant Second Amendment case in ten years, the Court is poised to decide the extent of citizen rights to carry firearms outside the home. This panel discussed the oral argument (scheduled for November 3, 2021), the merits, the procedure, as well as possible outcomes.
