SECA, which means dry flie in Spanish, is an adventure that combines our emotions as anglers with the search for the last rises of the season.

To make the most of the last warm days of the year, we went into a quest for the big brown trout in Spain, with the aim of catching a trophy wild trout to close our season.

Low water and fish trained by Spain's finest anglers made this quest even more captivating. A complex equation, with small flies and big tippets as the constants, in the hope of seeing these incredibly strong fish up close.

With the ending of the season approaching fast, we had just a few days left to complete our shoot and achieve our goals. Evening after evening, positioned on the acceleration of a huge pool, we waited to see the noses of the big Farios come out for the last hatches of the day. A fast current on a mirror of clear water along the willows, we’ve had our eyes locked on this bank until nightfall everynight. Then one evening, everything lined up. A discreet rise followed by an epic fight brought our stay to a perfect ending.

This film retraces that week's quest and reflects what drives us beyond fishing itself. To keep believing despite the obstacles, and to keep our fingers crossed that luck will be on our side.

SECA, qui signifie sèche en espagnol, est une aventure qui mêle nos émotions de pêcheurs à la recherche des derniers gobages de la saison.

Pour profiter au mieux des dernières heures chaudes de l’année, nous sommes partis à la recherche des grandes truites d’Espagne, notre objectif, prendre en sèche une grande sauvage pour clôturer notre saison.

Des eaux basses et des poissons éduqués par les plus fines lames d’Espagne ont rendu cette quête d’autant plus captivante. Une équation complexe avec comme constantes : petites mouches et gros fil pour espérer voir de près ces poissons d’une force incroyable à la robe de feu.

La fermeture approchant a grand pas il nous restait plus quelques jours pour clôturer notre tournage et accomplir nos objectifs. Soirs après soirs postés sur l’accélération d’un immense plat, nous attendions de voir sortir les becs des grandes Farios attablées pour la dernière éclosion de la journée. Un courant tendu sur un miroir d’eau claire longeant les saules, les yeux rivés sur cette bordure jusqu’à la nuit. Puis un soir, tout s’est aligné. Un gobage discret suivi d’un combat épique à clôturé à la perfection notre séjour.

Ce film retrace cette semaine de quête et reflète ce qui nous anime au delà de pêche en ellemême. Continuer d’y croire malgré les obstacles et croiser les doigts pour que la chance soit de notre côté.
