While regular rescue patrols at the seal colonies at Pelican Point and Cape Cross enable us to find entangled animals before they are injured, the more remote seal colonies in other areas of Namibia are not so lucky. One tiny loop of recreational fishing line was enough to suffocate this gorgeous and otherwise healthy animal. While we are proud of our rescues, we do not see any significant changes to the underlying issue.
