A five minute walk to the left of the Balcony Bird Table is the Harbour. A few adult Seagulls but mostly Juveniles (the grey speckled ones/mottled markings) from last summers breeding season, a juvenile Seagulls progression to adulthood is defined not so much by time, but by how much food they can get... If a youngster is small (and timid) and cannot compete well enough for food it stays small and a juvenile in appearance. The large and aggressive Juveniles develop adult markings quickly, usually in the same year they're hatched. Darwinism in action the small undeveloped ones can't progress, can't breed and are the most likely to die.
