Learn about the sea otter in this kids read aloud science story called Sophie The Sea Otter. The story is written by Aimee Tallian and illustrated by Peter Jones. Sophie lives happily in a kelp forest until she and the other otters are driven out of their home. Children will see the impact on the ecosystem when one species leaves. This is a great book to teach children how our actions impact the fragile ocean ecosystem. You can use this book as an introduction to teaching about food webs as well!
