We're embarking on an incredible underwater journey as we explore the pristine and biodiverse waters surrounding Isla del Caño in Costa Rica in Today’s episode on the DiveSAGA channel.

Costa Rica is synonymous with biodiversity and I was fortunate enough to spend a few days in the Puntarenas province to explore some of its topside natural environments. Because Costa Rica is wedged between the Pacific Ocean and the Caribbean Sea, I was dying to squeeze in a dive on Costa Rica’s pacific coast. I wasn’t on a diving vacation and didn’t bring any diving equipment but luckily we were able to secure a spot on a dive trip to Isla del Cano.

Cano island is a protected marine reserve with no human inhabitants and can only be reached by boat so we head to one of the local dive centers to take us out. The pacific coast of Costa Rica in general is gorgeous and if you look closely, you can see Cano island here in the distance. Only two hundred people are allowed to visit the waters of isla del cano on a daily basis to help protect its pristine environment and thriving ecosystem.
