What is the Bible getting at when it compares us to sheep? What does it mean to trust in the good shepherd? This sermon will recall my sheepsheering experience, explore the sheepshepherd relationship, and reveal why I’ve been saying the same prayer, “Come Holy Spirit,” before every sermon.

9:15 am Early prelude this Sunday
On this Shepherd Sunday we have planned lovely pastorale music for our worship service. Arrive at 9:15 am to hear Kathleen Dyer and Michelle Haun, flute and Ellie Choate, harp playing lovely pieces by J.S. Bach, G. F. Handel and Sivourma Stevenson. This music will serve to soothe your soul and prepare your heart for worship. Our hymns and Chancel Choir offerings all focus on Jesus, our Good Shepherd displayed in our Good Shepherd window at the center of our Chancel above the altar. Music includes My Shepherd Will Supply My Need by Mack Wilberg and Shannon Miller singing Adonai Ro’I Lo Echsar Psalm 23 in Hebrew by Gerald Cohen. The Flower Duet from Lakmé by Léo Delibes will be our offertory all in all a service filled with beauty, tranquility and emotional resonance.
