The SB1 Defiant is a highspeed multipurpose helicopter project implemented by Sikorsky and Boeing. The project is aimed at participating in the military program to create new generation transports and replace the UH60 Black Hawk helicopters.

The SB1 has an unusual layout for a helicopter, based on Sikorsky's research on their XH59 and X2 programs. It is equipped with a large coaxial main rotor, as well as a pusher propeller in the tail, providing acceleration. Thanks to these solutions, the Defiant is capable of accelerating to speeds up to 247 knots (457 km/h), making it one of the fastest helicopters in the world. At the moment, the project is still at the development stage, the prototype has passed a significant part of the test program, and Boeing and Sikorsky have also announced its upgraded version, called the Defiant X. The Defiant is the main competitor of the Bell V280 Valor project, made according to the tiltrotor design.
