Sanger Institute - Fen Raft spider: 25 Genomes
The Fen Raft spider was DNA sequenced by the Wellcome Sanger Institute to generate its reference genome. The Sanger Institute read the genetic code of the spider as part of its 25th Anniversary celebrations. The scientists hope that the genetic code will help researchers and conservationists in their efforts to protect and help this rare species.
