I've been making pretty much nothing but videos featuring giant robots for a while now. I wanted to make something different, but not so different that it would be a pain to learn. Metroid came to mind, since the Varia suit is almost like a small giant robot. A regular robot if you will. Another reason is that Metroid has become popular again, thanks to the announcement of Metroid dread. So it was on my mind and provided a fitting theme for my animation. I didn't stay entirely in canon with the suit design. The suit is supposed to just appear with space bird magic and you can't actually just jump out of it like that.
