A flurry of pink like springtime here in Japan when the sakura (cherry blossoms) are in full bloom!
Blowing out transparent paint creates a lovely lacing, as it does here using Permanent Magenta by Amsterdam.
Brands like Amsterdam, Liquitex, Pebeo etc. label their paints as transparent, semitransparent, opaque and semiopaque so do have a try experimenting.
(As my blow out + balloon smash paintings take between 12hrs to complete, these videos have been edited down as best possible to around 15mins)
*Paints:
Amsterdam Permanent Magenta, Light Gold, Copper
Liquitex Medium Magenta
Arteza (iridescent colours) Glowing Peach
Flying Tiger Pink, Light Pink, Light Peach
Base Paint: Monte Mart Titanium White (60g) + Amsterdam Titanium White (10g) mix
(Monte Mart paints arenât happy with my medium on their ownâŚso if I add a bit of Amsterdam paint, they behave better and donât swallow up the other paints!)
*Pouring Medium:
For colours: 60% Clear PVA Glue, 30% Water & 10% US Floetrol
Ratio: 1 part paint to 2 parts medium (plus water to thin consistency)
For base white paint: 70% Clear PVA Glue, 30% Water
55% paint + 45% medium
*Canvas size: 28 x 35.5cm (around 11 x 14 inches)
