Oregon's scenic hiking trail at Saddle Mountain is a hiker paradise for experienced and amateurs alike. The hike to the taller of the two peaks, a 5mile round trip is rather challenging at an elevation gain of 1,603 feet. At the top on a clear day, you can see the Pacific Ocean, Cascade Mountain peaks including Mount Hood, and other peaks in the Coast Range, and even Astoria.

Saddle Mountain is 7 miles from Interstate 26 and about 65 miles west of Portland. The access road to the mountain and state park is paved. The area contains dense forests of spruce and hemlock, and some ancient lava flows. There are overnight areas to stay at the park. Pitch your tent and enjoy yourself.
