Holiday music is always happy. The holidays are described to be “the happiest time of the year," but no one talks about the people whose pain feels heightened this time of year, in contrast to how happy other people are. This time of year can make people struggling feel like the worst time of year. No matter the day or month, life happens, and struggles occur. I wrote this song for those who feel alone with their emotions specifically this time of year, when we're expected to just "be happy." It's not that simple, and I understand that. You are not alone.
