"I just wanted to end it all." These are the sober words of 18yearold Ryan Junes who suffered from a debilitating and extremely rare condition called Erythromelalgia, or man on fire disease.

Fortunately for him, along with a persistent mom who did a lot of research, there was a doctor willing to do a littleknown treatment — a lidocaine infusion — that gave Ryan back his life. Now, symptomfree, he once again can pursue his dream of becoming a nurse and attend college this fall.
