I'm Mark from @TravelingMarlins. Have you ever been towed from a rest area? We've been traveling since the 1980 and I guess it was our time to have that happen.

We had left Coburg, Oregon, headed north on Interstate 5. We had only gotten around 30 miles on a rainy morning when I noticed fluid pouring from the back of the bus. I couldn't tell for sure if it was just rain water or something severe. Thankfully we were at an area that has rest areas on both sides of the highway. I pulled off and evaluated the issue. The fluid was coming from the radiator area of the bus.

We have a 1999 Prevost coach (bus) with a Marathon conversion and we were only about 30 miles north of Marathon Coach's facility. Because I didn't know how much fluid had dumped, I decided to call our roadside assistance company, CoachNet, to arrange a tow back to Marathon.

CoachNet was excellent. They worked with us nonstop and continually checked on us to make sure we were doing okay and that we were safe because the tow company couldn't get to us until the next day. The tow company, T & M Towing Service, was excellent as well. They have a piece of equipment that was used to tow our Prevost and it's something to see! Prevost buses sit very low to the ground so if a Prevost can drive up on this trailer then I'd say any RV could drive up on it without dragging its midsection. TEC Equipment is also a company who helped us in our time of need. We can't say enough about CoachNet, T&M Towing Service, TEC Equipment and Marathon Coach. Camp Marathon was wonderful.

This episode is to show you this interesting piece of towing equipment, visit about the importance of having roadside assistance and what caused our coolant to leak. It's also to teach a life lesson of the importance of human reaction during times like this. Stay calm. Think. Be Safe and have some brownies!

Note: I didn't anticipate using this iPhone footage for our YouTube channel so I apologize for its quality. Gail
