Hello my dear friends.
I am happy to share a new work from my workshop with you. This time our story is about an antique blacksmith hammer, a very beautiful hand tool.
As you know, I love the marks of time on antique objects, especially on metal.
For this restoration project, I didn't do a high finishing that would spoil the antique look. I even did some work to strengthen this old and craft look.
I tempered it in the blacksmith forge and the color turned out great, you will like !!
I chose hornbeam wood for the handle. I made a simple, solid and stylish design for my big hands. This form fit very well in the hand.
I have done very precise work for both metal and wooden parts.
As usual, I decided on the shape of the result during the work and It turned out to be a very nice geometry in the end.
I finally listened to the timbre it made on the anvil. I will use this beautiful antique hammer in my nearest blacksmithing project.
