The Ruger Mini 14 is a fantastic carbine...mixing the ability to shoot close quarters or midrange with ease. But if you want to get a little further out, you likely need an optic...or maybe you want to mount a red dot. In order to do so, you need to get a pic rail mounted to the receiver...and luckily the Mini 14 comes with one. But the odd shape and awkward cutout design makes this less than desirable. But is it useless? In this video we do some basic testing to find out.
