RUBBER IS EVERYWHERE on your RV. How To Take Care of it. đź‘Ť

How to take care of all your RV rubber parts. Damaging UV rays from the sun, rubber age & engine heat in the engine bay are brutal to RV rubber parts.

These things can make RV rubber parts of all kinds, deteriorate quicker—and if not addressed promptly—can create premature failure and many time cause RV leaks. Motorhomes and all RV’s are loaded with rubber parts everywhere. Owning an RV and especially traveling full time in an RV requires you take care of all rubber parts, so they will last a long time and stay in tip top shape. I’m going to show you how we take care of our RV slide seals—even slides that have toppers where access to rubber slide seals are hard to get to, our bay doors and some special tips that we do to rubber parts in the engine bay and other rubber parts under our Class A, V10 gas motorhome chassis.

SUGGESTED LIST OF RUBBER PARTS THAT SHOULD BE CONDITIONED ANNUALLY—especially—IF YOU'RE A FULL TIMER
• Slide Seals
• Bay Door seals and entry door seal
• Roof top vent seals
• All hoses in, around and under the engine and transmission area
• Generator fuel line under the generator AND in the front of the generator that feeds the carburetor
• Front and rear rubber brake lines
• Propane rubber lines (all of them) And especially for you 5th wheel or pull behind TT owners where you have propane rubber lines that come out with your slides and perhaps also run along the frame.
• Windshield wiper spray hoses that run up along your wiper blades
• Window seal & rubber parts
• Hydraulic lines on your leveling jacks
• Air Bags if you have them on your RV or Truck that you pull a trailer with

NOTE: ONE RUBBER EXCEPTION. DO NOT EVER PUT ANY PRODUCT DRESSING OF ANY KIND ON ANY OF YOUR BELTS. LIKE ENGINE BELTS OR A GENERATOR BELT

We are in no way experts or professional mechanics. But being a journeyman millwright for years & being EX Military, has proven to be very helpful in my lifetime learning how to care for & maintain all sorts of machinery & equipment like: helicopters, airplanes, tanks, motorcycles & many types of other vehicles. That, along with 18 months preparing & upgrading our RV before we went full time, & now traveling for several years has gained us a lot of knowledge. Regardless of what we recommend, consult a professional if you're unsure about working on your RV. Work you perform or products you purchase based on any information we provide is at your own risk.
