Educational video for kids that talks about what Roman numerals are and how they are used. The Roman numerals are the numbering system used in the Roman Empire more than 2000 years ago. The origin of this system comes from the civilization of the Etruscans, a group of people who lived in Tuscany, Italy, approximately 2,900 years ago. The numbering system is composed of seven capital letters and each letter has a numerical value. Roman numerals are written and read from left to right and from highest to lowest value. If to the right of a letter we have a letter of equal or lesser value, we add the values of the numbers together. When a letter with a lesser value is written to the left of a letter with a greater value, we subtract the lesser number from the greater one.
