I've done a couple videos recently covering the lifter failure on a 440 Mopar big block I rebuilt this winter. In the comments, several people asserted that I'm an idiot for using a flat tappet setup, and that the only way to go in this modern era of crappy parts is a roller cam conversion. But is that true? Is this really our only option? I don't think so. Personally, I think we need to make a lot more noise and hold the companies making these parts more accountable. Barring that, what else can we do? In this video, I explain the inherent problem with a roller cam conversion (the exorbitant cost,) and offer some other potential options that could work well for your build.
