Working on a Rim Drive type tape recorder which drives the spools rather than using a pinch roller. It looks like this product was built by Aiwa in the 1960s but was sold under multiple brand names. The battery arrangement is totally unsatisfactory so we add a circuit to make it run from a normal 9V supply.
